Two Men Drown in Separate Incidents in Lakes
On Saturday, 46-year-old Hasani Kamau Widemond drowned while swimming back to his boat from the shore at Bethel Park on Lake Lanier, Georgia. Emergency responders located his body in 25 feet of water using boat-mounted sonar. Similarly, 38-year-old Rafael Martinez Pascual drowned in the restricted Cedar Lake Wildlife Management area in New Jersey while swimming with friends; he was pronounced dead after rescue efforts. Additionally, a 70-year-old man named Pedro Pamirez-Anaya drowned at Fort Gibson Lake in Oklahoma while swimming with his wife, who attempted to keep him afloat. These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about swimming safety, as Pascual's case marks the fourth drowning in Monroe Township this summer. Authorities continue to investigate these incidents to ensure safety regulations are upheld.
