Berkeley BMAC Gala
The Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) has announced a prestigious lineup of honorees for its 2024 Gala, set for September 19 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Usher will receive the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award, while LL COOL J is honored with the Clarence Avant Trailblazer Award. Other notable honorees include Scott Mills, Louis Carr, Constance Orlando, and Kimberly Paige from BET Media Group, who will collectively receive the BMAC Social Impact Award, and Ivy McGregor of BeyGOOD, who will be awarded the BMAC Change Agent Award. BMAC co-founder Willie 'Prophet' Stiggers emphasized the importance of recognizing these achievements in the context of ongoing social and racial justice efforts. The event will also feature BMAC's third edition of its Music Industry Action Report Card, underscoring accountability in the music industry. The gala will be hosted by Kenny Burns, marking a significant celebration of changemakers in the entertainment sector.
