Joey Chestnut defeated Takeru Kobayashi in a historic hot dog eating contest streamed live on Netflix, consuming a record-breaking 83 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the $100,000 grand prize. This event, titled 'Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef,' marked their first head-to-head competition in 15 years, as well as Kobayashi's final competition. Chestnut's victory solidified his dominance in competitive eating, surpassing his previous record of 76 hot dogs set in 2021. The event, hosted at the Hyper X Arena in Las Vegas, also featured strict rules that prohibited dunking or separating the hot dogs from the buns. Despite their past rivalry and personal animosities, both competitors expressed mutual respect for pushing each other to achieve their best performances.
