Train accident in Thrissur
The recent heavy rains in Kerala have resulted in devastating landslides, claiming at least 23 lives, including a child, with many more feared trapped under debris. In response, several trains have been cancelled or short-terminated in the region due to unsafe conditions on the tracks. Simultaneously, a train derailment near Chakradharpur in Jharkhand has left two dead and approximately 150 injured, prompting the suspension of services on the Howrah-Mumbai rail line. Rescue operations are ongoing in both disaster-stricken areas, highlighting the urgent need for relief efforts. Various train cancellations and rerouting across India are also being implemented due to track upgrades and maintenance work, affecting numerous routes and schedules. Passengers are advised to stay updated through official railway sources to navigate these disruptions.
