Legal Notices Against Kangana Ranaut's Film 'Emergency'
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Delhi has sent a legal notice to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) demanding the revocation of the certification for Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film 'Emergency,' citing concerns over the misrepresentation of historical events and the Sikh community. The notice, sent by Paramjit Singh Sarna, criticizes the film for promoting hatred and social discord by inaccurately depicting the Sikh community. Similarly, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has also issued a legal notice demanding the removal of allegedly defamatory scenes and a public apology from the producers. Both organizations argue that the film portrays Sikhs as separatists and terrorists, which they claim is historically inaccurate and harmful. Kangana Ranaut has reportedly received death threats in response to the controversy, leading her to seek police protection. The film is scheduled for release on September 6, but its future remains uncertain amid legal challenges and public outcry.
