Whataburger Expands to Tampa
Whataburger, the Texas-based burger chain, is expanding its footprint into Tampa, Florida, with plans to open a new location by 2026. To celebrate the announcement, Whataburger's food truck distributed free food at Lykes Gaslight Square Park, and several executives attended the event. The exact location of the new restaurant has not been disclosed but will be revealed in 2025. This marks Whataburger’s first expansion into southwest Florida, adding to its existing 44 locations in the state. The announcement coincides with Whataburger’s 74th anniversary, having been founded in 1950. Additionally, Whataburger is also opening new locations in South Carolina, demonstrating the chain's ongoing growth.
