Doctor Duped of Rs 48 Lakh in Scam

In Pune, a doctor was swindled out of Rs 26 lakh by a man who promised high returns on a real estate investment, leading to police charges of cheating and forgery against the suspect. This incident highlights a troubling trend as multiple scams targeting medical professionals emerge, including a case in Lucknow where Dr. Ashok Solanki was duped of Rs 48 lakh by conmen impersonating law enforcement officials. The scammers misled him into believing he was under investigation for serious crimes, resulting in the doctor transferring his funds to their accounts under the pretense of facilitating an investigation. Other victims across India have similarly reported losses, with a retired banker in Gurgaon losing Rs 8.5 lakh and three individuals in Thiruvananthapuram falling victim to online job scams totaling Rs 72 lakh. These incidents underscore the need for increased awareness and protective measures against sophisticated online fraud schemes.
