Simi Valley man stabs coyote

A homeowner in Simi Valley, California, fatally stabbed a coyote that entered his residence through a dog door and attacked his pet chihuahua. The incident occurred shortly before noon on August 5 while the owner was showering upstairs and he rushed down after hearing a commotion. During the confrontation, the coyote bit the man multiple times on his wrist and arm, leading to his hospitalization, while the chihuahua sustained injuries to its head and face but is expected to recover. After the attack, the man managed to corner the coyote in a bathroom, where he continued to stab it until it died. Local authorities noted that wild animals, including coyotes, are common in the area and reminded residents to take precautions to prevent wildlife from entering homes. Both the man and his dog are anticipated to make a full recovery.
