Andhra thanks Centre
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh expressed gratitude to the Central government for allocating Rs 15,000 crore for the development of Amaravati and the Polavaram Irrigation project in the 2024-25 Union Budget. He emphasized the significance of these funds for the state's reconstruction and thanked the NDA government for its commitment after five years of limited support. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman confirmed the financial assistance and reiterated the government's dedication to completing the Polavaram project, deemed crucial for the state's farmers. Sitharaman also mentioned that additional financial support would be arranged through multilateral development agencies in future years, addressing the state's infrastructure needs as outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. The budget aims to promote industrial development and provide grants for backward regions in the state.
