Budget for Bihar

The Union Budget for FY25 has proposed significant funding for Bihar, totaling around Rs 58,900 crore, aimed at transforming the state into an industrial, logistics, and tourism hub. Key projects include road upgrades such as the Patna-Purnea and Buxar-Bhagalpur expressways, a new 2400 MW power plant in Pirpainti, and flood management initiatives worth Rs 11,500 crore. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasized the development of tourism sites, including the Vishnupad and Mahabodhi temples, and additional infrastructure like airports and medical colleges. The government also aims to enhance capital investments through multilateral development banks to support these initiatives.
