In India, construction has officially begun on the bullet train tracks for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, with the Surat-Bilimora segment slated to be the first operational section. The project, estimated at $15 billion and primarily financed by a $12 billion loan from Japan, aims to reduce travel time between the two cities to under three hours, with trains expected to reach speeds of 350 kilometers per hour. Additionally, track-laying activities have commenced, with over 30 kilometers of track beds completed, and contracts awarded for further segments.
