Gautam Gambhir Appoints New Support Staff for India Cricket

Gautam Gambhir, the newly appointed head coach of the Indian cricket team, has dismissed claims that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rejected his support staff requests, stating that most of his proposals were accepted. He confirmed the appointments of Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate as assistant coaches, with their roles focusing on all three departments of the game. Gambhir emphasized his positive relationship with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and expressed optimism about their shared goals for Indian cricket's development. The entire support staff will be finalized after the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, which begins on July 27, featuring three T20Is and three ODIs. Additionally, Morne Morkel is speculated to join as the new bowling coach, with T Dilip retained as the fielding coach. Gambhir's previous collaboration with Nayar and Ten Doeschate during the IPL 2024 season, where they won the title, was a significant factor in their selection for the national team.
