Ricky Pearsall released
San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has been released from the hospital less than 24 hours after being shot in the chest during an attempted robbery for his Rolex watch in Union Square. The incident occurred after Pearsall had participated in an autograph signing. He was initially reported to be in serious but stable condition, but updates indicated he was upgraded to fair condition before his release. Both Pearsall and the 17-year-old assailant were injured during a struggle for the gun. The 49ers organization expressed gratitude towards the San Francisco Police and hospital staff for their support during Pearsall's recovery. Pearsall, selected 31st overall in the NFL draft, will continue his recovery at home as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
