Ohmium International to Invest ₹400 Crore in Tamil Nadu
Tamil Nadu has secured a ₹400 crore investment from US-based Ohmium International to establish a manufacturing facility in Chengalpattu district, which is expected to create 500 jobs. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in San Francisco in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who is currently on a 17-day trip to the U.S. to attract investments. This project aims to enhance Tamil Nadu's green energy production capabilities and support the state's goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2030. Ohmium specializes in producing green hydrogen and electrolyzers and has a global footprint with existing operations in India. In addition to Ohmium, Stalin has signed several other MoUs with major companies during his visit, including agreements for technology and semiconductor projects. The Chief Minister's efforts are part of a broader strategy to foster sustainable development in the region.
