Petaluma Woman Arrested After Machete Incident
A 50-year-old Petaluma woman, Heather Doyle, was arrested after allegedly attacking a man with a 19-inch machete during a dispute at a residence on Marin Way. The incident escalated around 4:30 PM when Doyle chased the victim, who barricaded himself in a room as she attempted to hack her way in. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the police managed to evacuate the victim and another resident before Doyle fled the scene. Authorities tracked her to Novato, where she was arrested without incident and later booked into Sonoma County Jail for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The machete was recovered, and the police confirmed that no contact was made between Doyle and the victim during the altercation. The investigation into the incident continues as police ensure community safety.
