Noida Expressway Bus Restrictions During Peak Hours

Jamshoro, a city in Sindh known for its educational institutions, faces significant public transport challenges due to the absence of a dedicated bus terminal, forcing public service vehicles to operate on the busy Indus Highway, causing congestion and safety issues for commuters. Activists are urging the District Commissioner to address this by potentially utilizing university property for a proper bus terminal. Meanwhile, in Noida, traffic congestion during peak hours on the Noida Expressway has led authorities to restrict the entry of long-route passenger buses between 6:30 PM and 8:30 PM, a decision made after consultations with bus associations. This measure aims to alleviate heavy traffic caused by merging vehicles from various directions, particularly during office commute times, although bus operators argue that their vehicles help reduce overall traffic volume. The restrictions will be enforced starting August 10, with violators facing fines and buses halted before the expressway until after peak hours. Despite the measures aimed at improving traffic flow, bus operators remain skeptical about the efficacy of the restrictions.
