Thomas Morstead Launches Punt for ALS Campaign
New York Jets punter Thomas Morstead is dedicating the 2024 NFL season to his friend Steve Gleason, a former New Orleans Saints player who has been living with ALS since 2011. Morstead announced he will donate $1,000 for each punt he lands inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, aiming to raise funds for Team Gleason, which provides support to those affected by ALS. Last season, Morstead achieved a career-high of 36 punts inside the 20, and he encourages teammates and fans to join in the fundraising effort. Gleason, honored at the ESPYS with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage, is known for his significant impact on the New Orleans community, especially following Hurricane Katrina.
