Ken Holland to Leave Oilers After Contract Ends
Ken Holland and the Edmonton Oilers have mutually agreed not to extend his contract beyond its current term, which expires on June 30. Holland, who has been the GM and president of hockey operations since 2019, led the team to four playoff appearances and a recent Stanley Cup Final. Oilers CEO Jeff Jackson praised Holland for building a strong foundation and making Edmonton a desirable destination for NHL players. Holland, 68, has not disclosed his future plans but is expected to consider roles with other teams. The Oilers, who recently lost to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, have yet to name a replacement.
