Two Teens Die in Lexington Car Crash

Two teenagers, 18-year-old Hasan Mohammad Hasan and 13-year-old Omar Shalash, tragically lost their lives in a single-vehicle crash in Lexington, Kentucky early Saturday morning. The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Turkey Foot Road, with both victims pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force injuries. Shalash was an eighth grader at Lexington Universal Academy, which has offered emotional support for students affected by the tragedy. The Fayette County Coroner's Office confirmed that an unknown number of other individuals in the vehicle were hospitalized, though their conditions remain unclear. The Lexington Police Department is currently investigating the incident, with more details expected to be released soon. Funeral prayers for both teens are scheduled for Saturday afternoon at Masjid Bilal, followed by their burial at the Islamic Cemetery in Lexington.
