Marlins' Xavier Edwards Day-to-Day with Back Injury

Miami Marlins shortstop Xavier Edwards is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs due to lower-back discomfort he experienced while stealing a base on Friday. Medical imaging on his back came back negative, and he is considered day-to-day, with expectations that he won't miss many games. Vidal Brujan is filling in for Edwards at shortstop. Edwards, called up from Triple-A on July 2, has been performing well, hitting .349 with 22 steals, and recently hit for the cycle on July 28 against Milwaukee.
