Richard Simmons' Death Ruled Accidental by Coroner

Fitness guru Richard Simmons' death on July 13, 2024, was ruled an accident by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office. The autopsy revealed he died from 'sequelae of blunt traumatic injuries' due to a fall, with arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease as a contributing factor. Toxicology reports showed the presence of prescription drugs diphenhydramine, trazodone, and zolpidem, but they did not contribute to his death. Simmons experienced dizziness and fell on July 11, spending the next day in bed before being found unresponsive on July 13. Despite his housekeeper's attempts, he declined immediate medical attention after the fall. Simmons was known for his influential fitness career and had recently shared his gratitude for life following a skin cancer diagnosis.
