Mum mauled by dogs

In Sunbury, Melbourne, a young mother pushing a pram was mauled by a group of dogs just one day after the same dogs attacked a 71-year-old woman. Emergency services treated the mother for serious injuries, and she was taken to The Alfred hospital, while the elderly woman remains in serious condition at Royal Melbourne hospital. Neighbors had previously reported the dogs to local authorities multiple times, expressing fear as the animals roamed freely and terrorized the community. Following the attacks, animal control officers seized four dogs from a nearby home, but local officials indicated they were unable to act sooner due to the lack of a court order. Hume City Council acknowledged the incidents and stated they are collaborating with Victoria Police on the matter. The community is now demanding accountability and action to prevent future attacks.
