Steve McMichael Inducted into Hall of Fame
Chicago Bears legend Steve 'Mongo' McMichael was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in an emotional ceremony held at his home in Homer Glen, Illinois, due to his advanced ALS condition. McMichael, surrounded by family and former teammates, wore his gold jacket as his bronze bust was unveiled. Hall of Famer Richard Dent delivered a heartfelt speech, welcoming McMichael to 'football heaven.' McMichael's sister, Kathy, read a speech they had prepared together before he lost his ability to speak. McMichael is the fourth defensive player from the 1985 Bears Super Bowl-winning team to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Alongside McMichael, Devin Hester and Julius Peppers were also inducted as part of the 2024 class.
