Rangers Acquire Reilly Smith, Sign Sam Carrick

The New York Rangers have made significant moves in the offseason by acquiring Reilly Smith from the Pittsburgh Penguins and signing center Sam Carrick to a three-year, $3 million contract. To obtain Smith, the Rangers traded a conditional 2025 fifth-round pick and a 2027 second-round pick, with Pittsburgh retaining 25% of Smith's $5 million cap hit for next season. Smith, who had 13 goals and 40 points last season, brings versatility and a winning pedigree from his time with the Golden Knights.
