Idaho Welcomes First Safe Haven Baby Box

Safe Haven Baby Boxes have been installed in Reedsburg, Wisconsin, and Blackfoot, Idaho, allowing parents to legally and anonymously surrender their newborns to ensure their safety and well-being. These temperature-controlled boxes are equipped with medical bassinets where infants can be securely placed, triggering an alarm for prompt assistance. The initiative, led by Monica Kelsey, aims to prevent infant abandonment and has seen success across 17 states, with Idaho recently passing legislation to implement these life-saving measures. With over 245 Baby Box locations nationwide, the organization provides a vital support system for mothers in crisis, offering a chance for infants to have a loving future through adoption and proper care.
