Action Plan for Industrial Safety Announced in Andhra Pradesh

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced a three-month action plan to improve industrial safety in Andhra Pradesh following a tragic reactor blast at a pharma company in Atchutapuram that resulted in 17 fatalities. He attributed the disaster to management negligence and emphasized the need for rigorous safety audits in industries. Kalyan criticized the inadequate response to recurring industrial accidents, stating that mere condolences and compensation are insufficient. He plans to hold a special meeting on industrial safety next month and highlighted the importance of worker safety. Meanwhile, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called for firm action against companies failing to adhere to safety norms and has ordered a high-level probe into the recent accident. The government has committed to covering medical expenses for the injured and supporting the victims' families.
