Congress-NC Alliance for J&K Elections

Congress and the National Conference have formed an alliance for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, with Congress contesting 32 seats and NC 51 out of 90 total seats. Congress has released a list of candidates for nine constituencies. Meanwhile, the BJP faced internal dissent, leading to the withdrawal and re-issuance of its candidate list, now naming 15 candidates for the first phase. Key BJP candidates include Shagun Parihar, who aims to address unemployment. Voting will take place in three phases starting September 18, with results announced on October 4. The elections mark the first assembly polls in the Union Territory in a decade, covering both Kashmir and Jammu divisions.
