Kentucky Announces First 'I Voted' Sticker Winner
Lillian Bonczkiewicz, an 11-year-old middle school student from Carlisle County, has won Kentucky's inaugural 'I Voted' sticker contest with her design featuring a horse against an American flag, symbolizing 'Kentucky’s unbridled spirit' and 'our freedom.' The contest saw over 2,200 votes cast during the Kentucky State Fair from August 15-25, with Bonczkiewicz's design narrowly defeating a popular entry dubbed 'Lizard Man' by Cash Litzler, a Fleming County student. Secretary of State Michael Adams announced the results, emphasizing the goal of engaging youth in civic participation through the contest. Bonczkiewicz expressed gratitude to her supporters and noted that the achievement demonstrates the power of dedication and effort. Stickers featuring her design will be distributed in Carlisle County and made available to other counties upon request for the upcoming November election. The contest has garnered significant attention and conversation on social media as well.
