Paralympics quarter finals
Indian para-badminton player Manisha Ramdass advanced to the semifinals in the women's singles SU5 category at the Paris Paralympics, defeating Japan's Mamiko Toyoda 21-13, 21-16. However, her compatriots Mandeep Kaur and Palak Kohli were eliminated in their respective quarterfinals. Mandeep, competing in the SL3 category, lost to Nigeria's Bolaji Mariam Eniola with scores of 8-21, 9-21, marking her second defeat to Eniola in the tournament. Meanwhile, Palak fought valiantly but succumbed to Indonesia’s Khalimatus Sadiyah in the SL4 category, losing 19-21, 15-21. Despite these setbacks, India has secured five medals so far in the Games, with notable performances from other athletes still ongoing. Upcoming matches include Nithya Sivan Sumathy in the SH6 category and an all-Indian semifinal clash between Suhas Yathiraj and Sukant Kadam in the SL4 category.
