Lieutenant General M.V. Suchindra Kumar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, visited Doda and Kishtwar districts to assess ongoing anti-terrorist operations amid increased terrorist activity. During his visit, he reviewed the deployment of the Counter Insurgency Force (Delta) and emphasized the need for collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces. With reports of 40-50 foreign mercenaries in the region, over 4,000 elite soldiers have been deployed to counter these threats. General Kumar encouraged troops to maintain a high tempo of operations to ensure security for upcoming national events. Recent encounters in the area have resulted in casualties, including the deaths of soldiers and terrorists, highlighting the urgency of the military's efforts.
