Karnataka Legislature Adjourns Amid MUDA Scam Protests

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has vehemently denied allegations of fraudulent land allotment by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), claiming the accusations are politically motivated by the BJP and JD(S). The BJP has intensified its protests, demanding Siddaramaiah's resignation and a CBI investigation into the alleged scams involving MUDA and the Valmiki Development Corporation, accusing the Congress of misappropriating Rs 1087 crore. Siddaramaiah defended his stance, stating that the land allotments were legal and occurred during BJP's rule, and that the opposition's allegations are attempts to tarnish his image. The monsoon session of the Karnataka legislature was adjourned sine die amid ongoing protests by the opposition seeking discussions on the MUDA scam. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar accused the previous BJP government of similar irregularities and announced an inquiry into those allegations.
