Wrexham Signs Ollie Rathbone for Record Fee

Wrexham AFC has officially signed Rotherham United midfielder Ollie Rathbone, breaking their club record transfer fee for the player. The 27-year-old has committed to a three-year contract, having previously rejected an offer to extend his stay at Rotherham, who were relegated from the Championship last season. Rathbone, who has more than 200 League One appearances, expressed excitement about joining Wrexham, highlighting the club's successful back-to-back promotions. Wrexham's previous record transfer was approximately £300,000 for Ollie Palmer in 2022. The transfer is pending EFL approval, and Rathbone will not participate in the opening game against Wycombe Wanderers. Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson welcomed Rathbone, noting his Championship experience and prior promotion success.
