Wild Sign Brock Faber to 8-Year Extension
The Minnesota Wild have signed 21-year-old defenseman Brock Faber to an eight-year, $68 million contract extension, starting in the 2025-26 season. Faber, who led all NHL rookies in ice time and assists, finished second in the Calder Memorial Trophy voting. He set several franchise rookie records, including assists, blocked shots, and time on ice per game. Initially drafted by the Los Angeles Kings, Faber was traded to the Wild in 2022 as part of a deal for forward Kevin Fiala. His new contract includes a no-move clause and a partial no-trade clause after Year 5. Faber's performance has established him as a cornerstone of the Wild's defense for years to come.
