BSF Shoots Bangladeshi Smuggler in Malda

On the night of August 11-12, a violent clash occurred between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladeshi smugglers in West Bengal's Malda district, where BSF personnel were attacked by armed smugglers attempting to smuggle contraband into Bangladesh. In self-defense, the BSF jawans opened fire, resulting in the death of one smuggler identified as Abdullah from Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh. The confrontation took place near the Chandnichak Border Outpost, where the jawans intercepted smugglers carrying goods across the border. Despite the warnings, the smugglers launched a surprise attack, prompting the BSF to retaliate. The incident highlights ongoing tensions along the India-Bangladesh border, where smuggling attempts have surged amid political turmoil in Bangladesh.
