Cal Ripken Jr. to Splash at Orioles Game
Cal Ripken Jr., the legendary Baltimore Orioles player and Hall of Famer, will serve as the Guest Splasher in the Bird Bath Splash Zone on September 6 during a game against the Tampa Bay Rays. This event celebrates the 29th anniversary of Ripken breaking Lou Gehrig's consecutive games played record, which he achieved on the same date in 1995. The game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., and the Splash Zone will spray water for each extra-base hit by the Orioles. Ripken, known for his record of 2,632 consecutive games played, will join other notable guests who have participated in the splashing since the zone's inception. Throughout his career, Ripken was a 19-time All-Star and two-time MVP, finishing with over 3,000 hits and a .276 batting average. Fans are excited to celebrate this milestone with Ripken's participation as Mr. Splash.
