Asa Hutchinson Joins University of Arkansas Faculty
Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson will join the University of Arkansas School of Law as an executive in residence for the spring 2025 semester. A 1975 alumnus of the law school, Hutchinson will teach a course on leadership in state and federal government and participate in continuing legal education and moot court programs. He expressed excitement about returning to the institution, stating, 'This is where it all began for me,' and praised the students' dedication to justice. Hutchinson's extensive public service background includes roles as a U.S. attorney, congressman, and head of the DEA and Homeland Security. The law school is celebrating its centennial year, and Dean Cynthia Nance highlighted Hutchinson's experience as an asset to the next generation of lawyers. Hutchinson also previously ran for the Republican presidential nomination but withdrew after receiving less than 1% of the vote in Iowa.
