Odisha Heightens Coastal Security Amid Bangladesh Unrest

In response to the ongoing turmoil in Bangladesh, the Odisha government has heightened security measures along its 480-kilometer coastline to prevent an influx of immigrants. High alerts have been issued across coastal districts, particularly Balasore, Bhadrak, and Kendrapara, with intensified patrolling at 18 marine police stations. Authorities are closely monitoring incoming vessels and have increased manpower to detect and deter illegal crossings, particularly in vulnerable areas like Bhitarkanika National Park. The state's police are collaborating with the Indian Coast Guard and Navy to enhance coastal security and have established a control room for better coordination.
