Heavy Rainfall Triggers Alerts Across Kerala

Kerala is experiencing heavy rainfall, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue orange and yellow alerts for several districts, including Pathanamthitta and Idukki. Intermittent rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected to continue, with warnings of potential flooding and landslides, particularly in mountainous areas. In addition to the alerts in Kerala, heavy rains are forecasted for Uttarakhand, leading to over 150 rural roads being blocked due to landslides. The IMD has advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and remain vigilant as conditions worsen. Meanwhile, Karnataka's government has prepared for flood-like situations as heavy rainfall is anticipated along its border with Maharashtra. The state's rainfall has been above normal this year, suggesting a positive outlook for agriculture despite the adverse weather conditions.
