China Showcases Humanoid Robots at 2024 WRC

The 2024 World Robot Conference in Beijing showcased a significant leap in humanoid robotics, featuring 27 humanoid robots, the highest number ever at the event. The event attracted 169 companies displaying over 600 innovative products, with a focus on practical applications of robotics in various sectors. Despite not being recognized as a global leader in humanoid robotics yet, China aims to replicate its success from the smartphone and electric vehicle industries. The conference, which attracted 400 industry experts, reflects China's ambitions in the robotics field, though challenges related to technology and costs persist. As the market for humanoid robots is projected to reach $154 billion by 2035, the competition among global technology players intensifies.
