Great Scott to Reopen Near Original Location
Great Scott, a beloved Boston music venue that closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, is set to reopen in 2026 at a new location near its original spot in Allston. The new venue, situated at Harvard Avenue and Cambridge Street, will feature a 300-person capacity space for Great Scott and a 75-person capacity for its sister club, O’Brien’s Pub. The reopening efforts were driven by Carl Lavin, Great Scott's longtime booking manager, with support from Paul Armstrong and real estate developer Jordan Warshaw. A crowdfunding campaign raised over $300,000 to aid the development. The new venue will preserve its iconic dive bar vibe while incorporating modern amenities. The project includes mixed-use development with retail stores and rental units, ensuring Great Scott's cultural legacy continues in the evolving neighborhood.
