Haas F1 Team Assets Seized in Netherlands

The Haas Formula 1 team is currently unable to leave the Netherlands due to the seizure of its assets, including race cars and equipment, by Dutch authorities at the request of former sponsor Uralkali. The Russian fertilizer company is demanding approximately $10 million following a Swiss arbitration ruling that ordered Haas to repay part of the sponsorship money after terminating their agreement amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Haas can compete in the Dutch GP at Zandvoort but risks missing the upcoming Italian GP if the payment issue remains unresolved. Team principal Ayao Komatsu acknowledged the debt and expressed confidence that the payment would be made soon, despite complications arising from anti-Russian sanctions. Uralkali's lawyer emphasized that Haas's lack of compliance constitutes a criminal offense, urging the team to clarify the whereabouts of their equipment.
