India arrives in Sri Lanka

The Indian cricket team, led by newly appointed T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav, has arrived in Sri Lanka for a six-match white-ball series beginning with three T20 Internationals on July 27. This series marks Gautam Gambhir's first assignment as head coach of the team, stepping into a role previously held by notable figures like Rahul Dravid. Gambhir emphasized the importance of building trust and maintaining a supportive environment within the squad, aiming to continue the team's recent successes, including their T20 World Cup victory. The T20 matches will take place at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, followed by three ODIs at the R Premadasa Stadium starting August 1. The squad received a warm welcome upon arrival, and Gambhir will be supported by his former KKR teammates Abhishek Nayar and Ryan Ten Doeschate as assistant coaches. Notably, players such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will join the team later for the ODI segment of the tour.
