BSF Intercepts Drone Carrying Heroin Near Border

The Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated India's 78th Independence Day at the Attari-Wagah joint check post, where DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary hoisted the national flag and praised the sacrifices of freedom fighters. The event included traditional performances and showcased the BSF Prahari brass band, while the DG received updates on drone-related smuggling threats along the 537 km Pakistan border. Concurrently, in Ferozepur, BSF personnel intercepted a drone carrying 538 grams of heroin, which was recovered during a search operation initiated after spotting suspicious activity. The drone, identified as a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, was equipped with a plastic bottle attached by red tape and a nylon loop, along with an illuminating stick. This incident highlights ongoing challenges posed by drone smuggling across the Indo-Pak border, emphasizing the BSF's vigilance and response capabilities.
