Paleontologists have discovered a new species of horned dinosaur, named Lokiceratops rangiformis, in northern Montana near the Canadian border. This dinosaur, found by a team from the Natural History Museum of Utah and the University of Utah, features the largest frill horns ever seen on a horned dinosaur, inspired by the Norse God Loki. Lokiceratops lived 78 million years ago and provides new insights into the diversity of ceratopsians, suggesting that scientists have greatly underestimated their variety. The fossil, which took four years to reconstruct, is now displayed at the Museum of Evolution in Denmark and a replica at the Natural History Museum of Utah. This discovery emphasizes the rich prehistoric biodiversity and the intricate evolutionary details of horned dinosaurs.
