Bouwmeester Wins Gold, Rouwendaal Shines Too

Sharon van Rouwendaal of the Netherlands won the women's 10-kilometer open water swimming at the Paris Olympics, overcoming safety concerns about the Seine River to claim gold. In another notable achievement for the Netherlands, Marit Bouwmeester won gold in the women's dinghy sailing event, becoming the most decorated female sailor in Olympic history with two golds, one silver, and one bronze. Denmark's Anne-Marie Rindom secured silver, and Line Flem Hoest of Norway took bronze in the women's dinghy. Bouwmeester’s victory marks her fourth consecutive Olympic podium finish and her first as a mother. Australia's Matt Wearn also won back-to-back gold in the men's dinghy, with Pavlos Kontides of Cyprus and Stefano Peschiera of Peru taking silver and bronze, respectively.
