Former Colorado special teams coordinator Trevor Reilly resigned after attempting to secure NIL funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund without the university's endorsement. Reilly claimed he traveled to the Middle East, utilizing his own resources, to propose NIL funding, but his efforts were unsupported by Colorado's athletic department. He expressed frustration over the lack of backing, which he said caused him to lose valuable contacts within his Mormon community. Colorado's athletic department confirmed Reilly acted independently. The university has since emphasized that their official NIL efforts are managed through the 5430 Alliance collective.
