Texas and Oklahoma Join SEC Today

The University of Oklahoma (OU) and the University of Texas have officially joined the Southeastern Conference (SEC) as of July 1, 2024, marking a major shift in college athletics. Celebrations across Oklahoma and Texas included campus parties, pep rallies, concerts, and special events, with notable appearances from coaches, alumni, and SEC officials. In Tulsa, the Mother Road Market hosted a 'Wake Up In The SEC' event, while in Oklahoma City, Toby Keith's bar was a focal point for festivities. Texas hosted a carnival and concert featuring Pitbull, and both schools launched SEC-branded merchandise. This move concludes a three-year transition from the Big 12 and sets the stage for new rivalries and competition within the SEC.
