Fresh charges have been brought against BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad, who is accused of shooting Shiv Sena leader Mahesh Gaikwad in a police station, with the lawmaker now facing allegations of using casteist slurs. The attack reportedly followed a land dispute between the two politicians, with Madhumati Jadhav, who filed the latest complaint, having been in competition with Ganpat for ownership of a 5-acre plot in Dwarli village, Thane, for several years. The incident occurred on 31 January, with Gaikwad's condition remaining critical but stable, according to Thane guardian minister Shambhuraj Desai. Police are conducting an investigation.
