Arsenal are on the verge of signing Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad for a fee of around £32.5m, including add-ons, making him their third major signing of the summer. The 28-year-old Spanish midfielder, who helped Spain win Euro 2024, will sign a four-year contract with an option for an extra year. Merino's move comes after extensive negotiations, with Sociedad initially holding out for a higher fee, and he has already been left out of Sociedad's squad for their recent match against Rayo Vallecano. The deal is expected to be finalized shortly. Meanwhile, Arsenal are also linked with other transfer activities, including potential sales of Eddie Nketiah to Nottingham Forest and Aaron Ramsdale to Wolves or Ajax.
