Katarzyna Niewiadoma Wins Tour de France Femmes
Poland's Kasia Niewiadoma clinched her first Tour de France Femmes title, narrowly defeating defending champion Demi Vollering by just four seconds. In a dramatic final stage on the iconic Alpe d'Huez, Niewiadoma finished fourth while Vollering, who began the day eighth overall, won the stage but fell short in the overall standings. Niewiadoma's emotional victory came after a challenging climb, and she expressed disbelief at her achievement. Pauliena Rooijakkers and Evita Muzic rounded out the podium in the final stage, finishing second and third respectively. Niewiadoma's overall time was 24 hours, 36 minutes, and 7 seconds, marking her place in cycling history as the first Polish woman to win the Tour. Vollering's strong performance was commendable but ultimately not enough to retain her crown after a previous crash led to her losing the yellow jersey.
